I have no professional vision for this piece ... I can only see it as just a client.
In my opinion the piece, besides having a variety of shades and colors. It has the power to evoke different feelings. I like, because they could say that seems like a siren or a nymph, even to the naked eye also looks like jellyfish. It has dark, but joy. And best of all, it has the power to imagine that I could be herself.
I love it, I like, I applaud ... Because mind is simply wonderful. I love the work in the series, I think it deserves all the stars.
The first thing that came to me when seeing this picture was the way that thought seems to overtake me when I'm in the shower. I wonder if that was an inspiration to you, too!
I think there are a few aspects of your execution of this piece that are very effective. First, and perhaps most basic, is the use of dark colors and a prevalently black background. This suggests to me the unknown. Thinking here seems like an adventure. I also like the busier top half of the frame, with the surreal elements spiraling around the head. They have a natural enough shape that they look somewhat like curling hair in certain places, which keeps them from seeming too foreign to the image.
Not so effective, I think, are the embellishments on the chest and upper arms. These distract from the busy "headspace," where the thought is going on. If these embellishments on the thinker's own body are supposed to suggest reflection or inwardly directed thought, there is an apparent contradiction with the tendrils around the head that seem to be directed mostly away from the thinker, meandering in all sorts of directions.
This criticism does not apply to the drips of black and blue paint, however. I think these actually contribute to the image by representing the effect the actions of the mind have on the body, especially the cool peace that comes with contemplation. I like the idea of that peace coming from the head, the link between physical and mental, and melting down over the physical body.
On a bit of a technical note, I like the way you developed form in certain places, especially the nose and mouth. I think other areas, for example the arms, could have used just a little more work in this respect.
